Karen Forsman is completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. She is also a BCRPA certified Fitness Leader. Through her degree at SFU, she has taken several nutrition courses including Nutrition for Fitness & Sport and Applied Human Nutrition.
An avid triathlete, Karen has been training and competing in triathlon for the past nine years. Prior to engaging in triathalon competition, Karen enjoyed participating in several other sports including soccer, cross-country running, and Irish dance. In her spare time, Karen looks forward to cooking and baking, reading, and catching up with friends.
Karen is passionate about health and fitness, and believes that an active lifestyle is the key to a happy and healthy life. As a Lifestyle Educator and fitness consultant, Karen is a valuable member of the team of health care providers at Port Moody Naturopathic Health & Wellness. As part of our First Line Therapy (FLT) program, Karen provides customized meal plans and exercise regimens for those who wish to achieve an optimal state of health and body composition. She provides guidance with enthusiasm, motivational support and education for her patients as they are introducing lifestyle and dietary changes and monitors monthly progress with the assistance of BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) evaluations.
