Susan is thrilled to have the unique position of being both Registered Professional Counsellor and Colon Hydrotherapist at Port Moody Naturopathic & Wellness. She has a keen interest in both psychology and natural health, and is an eager, ongoing student of the mind/body/spirit connection. In total, Susan has over 30 years experience in the health, healing and personal development fields.
Susan was born and raised here on the BC Westcoast, and enjoys everything to do with the ocean and trees. She loves to sail, kayak, walk on the beach, and simply to be out in nature.
As counsellor, Susan is passionate about helping others to move through their own unique challenges, to be in touch with their inner resources and strengths, in order to free themselves to be able to live their lives authentically and intentionally.
Susan is a graduate of Clearmind International Institute’s three-year program in Transpersonal Counselling Psychology. She is a Registered Professional Counsellor, and a Full Member of the CPCA (Canadian Professional Counsellor’s Association).
Susan’s additional trainings and experience include EMDR training; Vancouver Community College’s Counselling Skills Certificate Program; co-facilitator of women’s groups, in recovery from childhood sexual abuse at Burnaby Family Life; creator and facilitator of an assertiveness/communication course for women with histories of childhood sexual abuse at Burnaby Family Life; facilitator of art therapy groups for children of divorced, separated or deceased parents at The Ark Child Services Society; 10 years experience as teacher of Adult Continuing Education – Assertiveness Training & Communication Skills; over 10 years experience as a group facilitator, workshop leader and breath practitioner.
As colon hydrotherapist, Susan brings her extensive experience, knowledge, passion and compassion into each session. Her focus is to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment, helping others to feel at ease during their colon hydrotherapy session.
Susan is a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, being certified at the Advanced Level with the International Association of Colon Therapists. She is also nationally board-certified with the National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy.
